The CGR Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the selection of CGR Principal Erika Rosenberg as President and Chief Executive Officer. The board approved Ms. Rosenberg to succeed Joseph Stefko as leader of the 104-year-old research and consulting organization at a special meeting today.
Ms. Rosenberg joined CGR in 2005 after a career in journalism including posts at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and Gannett News Service in Albany. Over the past 14 years, she has led the organization’s expanding portfolio of work with nonprofits and foundations in community indicators, evaluation, asset mapping and landscape scans, and other projects. She has directed a variety of projects critical to communities, including CGR’s study of the City of Rochester’s Civilian Review Board, which helped the City evaluate options for increasing police accountability, and a partnership with the United Way of Greater Rochester helping frame community needs and possible investment strategies for the future. Her work has helped expand CGR’s footprint beyond New York State, with projects in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Tennessee, Florida and Arkansas.
“Erika embodies CGR’s mission of improving communities through data, analysis and consultation,” said Board Chairman Victor Salerno. “With more than a decade of experience as a researcher, project director and practice area leader at CGR, she hits the ground running and will do a terrific job leading CGR into its next phase of impactful community work.”
Before coming to CGR, Ms. Rosenberg covered Rochester city schools and education at the Democrat and Chronicle and state government for Gannett News Service. Over her career in journalism and at CGR, she has developed expertise in state and local government, community data, facilitation, education, evaluation and policy analysis.
