2023 was a great year for the Governmental Research Association.
We completed our strategic planning process in 2022. Since then, the GRA has been on a roll.
What happened in 2023?
- The GRA rebranded with a new logo and look.
- We unveiled the new website.
- We began working on website tools that will help each of us in our respective organizations access information from peer organizations with an eye toward helping us all collaborate and improve our work.
- Members started quarterly Executive Director Council meetings; we will have another on January 28.
- Members started planning our comms/development/other and our researcher quarterly meetings.
- The GRA hosted a communications event to learn about the strategy EducationNC used to reach 1.1 million readers in 2022 – doubling their 2019 audience.
- The GRA hosted a professional learning opportunity with Phylis Resnick with the Colorado Futures Center.
- GRA-member EducationNC hosted a webinar for all GRA members detailing strategies for incorporating AI into our work.
- The GRA hosted its annual policy conference in Worcester, Massachusetts. It was a great success.
And what is in store for 2024?
- We will unveil new website tools, adding value GRA members.
- The GRA will regularly host professional learning opportunities as part of the quarterly meetings for executive directors, researchers, and other staff.
- Executive Directors will be invited to a small in-person working meeting on February 1 in Birmingham hosted by the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama. More details to come.
- Executive directors will meet for a retreat July 14-20 near Asheville ahead of the annual policy conference. Register here.
- We will see you in Asheville, North Carolina July 21-24 for the GRA’s Annual Conference. Save the date! Details to follow.
