Strategic Planning Initiative + GRA Conference
Happy new year! As announced in the November Reporter, the GRA’s strategic planning initiative is full steam ahead with $20,000 raised thanks to members’ generosity. The working group spearheading the initiative has met several times and has released a request for information for a consultant to lead the initiative. We have sent the RFI to several potential consultants recommended by GRA members. Suggestions for additional consultants are welcome! Please email Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org or feel free to refer directly to the RFI, available on the GRA website here. Additional time could be allotted for additional RFI responses. Our project timeline outlines a process culminating in the consultant’s report on possible futures for the organization to be delivered at the GRA Conference this summer.
2022 GRA Conference: As a reminder, this summer’s GRA Conference will take place in Philadelphia and be hosted by the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia. We are currently finalizing dates and will announce them shortly! While we are looking forward to seeing everyone in person this summer, the rise of the omicron variant over the last two months has emphasized that the future course of the pandemic is uncertain. Therefore, we will work with Gatherly, the platform that hosted the virtual conference last year, to develop a backup virtual space that we can use in case it is not possible to hold our conference in-person as preferred. If you have topic ideas for the 2022 conference or are interested in presenting, please let us know!
Question Corner: Steven Procopio, President of the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana, is looking for good examples of state transparency portals for federal COVID money—CARES, ARP, etc. If you have a recommendation for him, please follow up via email: steven at parlouisiana dot org.
