Membership in the Governmental Research Association is open to anyone who supports the purposes of the Association.  Dues are $90 annually ($225 for an organization) and entitle the individual to receive without charge the quarterly GRA Reporter and the Professional Directory of Who's Who in Governmental Research, which are described below.

The association holds an annual conference at which its members meet to discuss professional matters, exchange ideas, and recognize outstanding research efforts.   At the conference, the Association confers awards for Distinguished Research, Effective Citizen Education, and Special Achievement.  Governmental research organizations with members in the Association are eligible to enter the awards competition.   To encourage participation by university-affiliated research bureaus and other governmental agencies, the competition provides for awards in all three categories for both nonprofit and government-sponsored research achievements.

Publications of the Governmental Research Association Include:

    1. The GRA Reporter, a quarterly newsletter containing articles of professional interest, news concerning the Association and its members, and a bibliography of publications by governmental research agencies.  (Subscription for non-members: $50 annually.)

    2.  The Professional Directory of Who's Who in Governmental Research, a periodical listing of agencies concerned with the improvement of government through research (both state/local and national), and of members of the Association.  (Price to non-members: $50.)
